What Does Your Credit Card Say About You?

Many people think a credit card is just a credit card… you know, they allow you to purchase items without having to carry cash and allow you to pay it off on some other day in the future. Did you know that the credit card that you choose can actually say a lot about you, about your life, and about what you do the most in life?books

There are many different “brands” of credit cards that extend far beyond just MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover. You can obtain credit cards for different organizations or companies as well. If you shop at a particular store more often than other stores, many large department stores offer their own brand of credit card as well, that carry one of the major credit card logos. The same thing applies to many major airlines, hotels, and several organizations that support different causes such as:

  • sports
  • disease
  • children
  • and other causes.

However, these types of credit cards can also offer you so much more than simply affirmation that you support a certain business or cause. Most often, you also have the opportunity to experience deep discounts with participating retailers and services. For example, with an airline credit card, you can earn free flights and miles with each purchase. The miles can be used towards free airline tickets, upgrades, or even redeemed for various services or at many retailers.

In other words, if you were a frequent flyer for business or personal reasons, an airline credit card would be your best bet. However, if you are a frequent traveler, but you travel using your car or a car rental, gas type credit cards may be right up your alley. Gas credit cards, which also carry a major credit card logo is perfect for those who travel frequently by card. Not only can you save money on gas during travel, but you can also save money on hotels, car rentals, car services, or other travel related expenses.

The type of credit card you get can say a lot about who you are and what you do. You can support your favorite team, store, or cause while getting some great discounts and rewards at the same time. Choosing the right credit card for you means looking at the whole package. You should be looking at fees, interest rates, and the rewards you are offered for being a cardholder.
